The fiction of The Giver takes place in a blank, emotionless, sc pop out world where people go on about their lives characterise solely to the community. Outraged, Jonas decides to leave his home, thus, releasing all the memories onto the community with the process of the Giver. Jonas and so escapes the city with Gabriel, an infant whom he became attached to during the weeks of his training. Jonas and Gabriel give way the heat and cold during their trek in hopes of reaching Elsewhere, a mysterious place far away from the community. Jonas then finds a bobsled on top of a mountain of carbon paper and climbs aboard with Gabriel. As they slide down the hill, Jonas can cast lights in the distance and they sound of music, a first for him.
